So this is the Interdisciplinary Academic building, where our major is located, and we are located on the third floor. And it is the newest building on campus. It is so beautiful. We absolutely love it. There areas for people to sit down in between classes and for people to sit and do their homework, as you can see on the other side over there. And now we're about to go up the stairway to the third floor.
So when you come up the stairs, you're going to take a left onto our hallway. And you see the first studio room on the left, as well as many lockers to choose from, and they are free, and you can store your materials in them, so you won't have to cart them all on campus. We're about to go to Studio Lab 2. And you do get swipe access with your Eagle ID 24/7, so you can come in here at any time. These computers are touchscreen, and there's many of them that you can work on. But this is what our studio room looks like.
When you get accepted into the Interior Design program, you are placed in a studio with others entering the program at the same time. These are the people you will spend the last two and a half years with during your undergraduate career. Each studio focuses on a different type of design. You will learn a variety of skills and knowledge you will need for your future career. Our honors students recently got the opportunity to present their research at the IDEC annual conference in Oklahoma. We have an organization called the Interior Design Association that allows students to network, get to know others in the program and volunteer in the community. Our professors look for events and scheduled days where we can tour show rooms to give us more information that relate to our studio and help us move forward with our projects. These are just a few of the great opportunities that our Interior Design program has to offer.
Georgia Southern has given me experiences that I will cherish for a lifetime such as Fall Family Weekend, Freedom's Flight and sitting on the panel for Transfer Visit Day. Being in Southern Leaders has been so rewarding by helping me grow more as an individual and a leader and give back to the community. Southern Ambassadors has allowed me to be the face of Georgia Southern, do what I love, and show future students that you will not get an experience like this anywhere else. This is Georgia Southern University. Welcome to Eagle Nation and get ready to soar.
